Gagambino – The Next Fantaserye of GMA 7

After Kamandag and Joaquin Bordado, another Carlo J. Caparas creation is going to be a fantaserye soon on GMA.


GMA has bought the rights to Gagambino, the local counterpart of Spiderman, which is set to premiere on September 2008.

GMA is already preparing the female artists who will star in Gagambino in various fields like equestrian, underwater, martial arts and harness.

And who will be the lead star of Gagambino? It’s still a secret. But the teaser of the said fantaserye has already been shot. What is certain is that the televiewers will get surprised once they see the teaser.

So who do you think will play “Gagambino”?

Dennis Trillo? Aljur Abrenica? Marky Cielo? Alfred Vargas? JC de Vera? Mark Herras? Wendell Ramos? Jay Aquitania? Paolo Avelino? or Hero Angeles?

Fantaserye is a coined term joining the words “fantasy” and “series”. It is a genre of Philippine television which mixes soap opera, fantasy, myth, magic and enchantment. The episodes are usually 30 minutes long, and has a daily slot in the evening primetime row.

Considered in this list are once a week fantaseryes.

Trivia:

The first fantaserye (even before the term was conceived) was “Okay Ka Fairy Ko” starring Vic Sotto, Alice Dixon and the late Charito Solis.

The longest running fantaserye was still “Okay Ka Fairy Ko”. It started it’s run on IBC 13 on 1987 and lasted for 7 years.

The first fantaserye that was shown on primetime TV (weeknights) was ABS-CBN’s “Darating ang Umaga”
